It’s been a long summer in the poker world with the spotlight constantly moving from player to player. At Pokercode, that’s the usual trend as we have so many talented players making their way through the ranks. Since May, our community has been dominating the online and live felt and we want to share their successes with you. Without further ado, meet our Summer of Champions:
The name will be familiar to a lot of you at this point, but Samuel Mullur has been crushing the high-stakes scene in the last 18 months and in May he demonstrated his skills in great fashion. At the beginning of SCOOP on 13.05, he got off to an incredible start by winning the $109 Deep Stacks Event for $38k and on the same day took down the $5,250 Sunday Bounty Hunters Main on GGPoker for a cool $106k. This won't be the last time Samu features in this post, which tells you everything you need to know about him.
On the same day as Samu, community member Benny took down his first SCOOP title in the $109 7-Max for $30.8k and planted his name in the history books. Despite this achievement, Benny didn’t slow down as only a few weeks later he finished runner-up in another $109 SCOOP Event for $19k. Look out for him collecting more trophies in the upcoming series events.
Legendary Pokercode member and Grindhouse 2 participant, Sebastian Schulze joined the success train on the 14.05 by finishing fifth in the $525 Bounty Hunters Sunday Main Event on GGPoker for $53k. This was Seb’s third appearance at this final table after previously winning the event a year or so ago for a whopping six-figure sum.
On 16.05, Farkas Benedek put his name on the map at Pokercode with a dominating win in the 2-Day Event “The Weekender” on GGPoker for $28k. He went into the final table with an enormous chip-lead and went on to show no mercy to collect the trophy. His attendance in the coaching seminars definitely paid off with how he navigated the ICM stages of the tournament.
It’s been a long coming for Pokercode Coach and High Stakes Streamer “Tobsen_Te9”, but on 28.05 he got over that hurdle to win his first SCOOP Title in the $530 6-Max Turbo Progressive KO for $22.9k. We’re all aware of the ability and knowledge that Tobi possesses, but one of his best attributes is being able to perform consistently when variance isn’t on his side. This time it was and a well deserved title went his way.
Miguel has been a part of the Pokercode community very much since the beginning. Everyone in the community will know him for the help he provides to our members, but on 29.05 they realised he’s ability on the felt as well. Winning every single bounty at the final table, Miguel put on a masterclass in the $530 Mystery Bounty HR SCOOP Event to collect $45.8k and his first SCOOP title.
To kick-start June, Felix Rabas, one of our mid-stakes maestros, secured his first SCOOP title. On 03.06, he came back to play Day 2 of the $215 Progressive KO Main Event 2nd Chance and ended up winning it all for $94.7k. Felix showed his resilience to battle through the entire series until the end and earn the title in one of the last events to run.
The prestigious WSOP Series was already a few weeks in and Pokercode was represented in big numbers across the pond. One of those was Fabian Niederreiter, Grindhouse 3 participant and member of s00n. He just fell short of the final table in the $3k 6-Max, collecting $74k for his efforts. It’s just a matter of time before a big title falls Fabi’s way.
We all remember the incredible runs from our Pokercode members in the WSOP Main Event. We had numerous players in the money and hoped to make history by reaching the final table of the Main Event, but sadly Stefan Nemetz and Sebastian Schulze fell just short. Finishing 23rd and 21st for $360k a piece, it was a monumental effort from the guys to run that deep and they played incredibly well for seven days to reach that point.
Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be this time around for the past Grindhouse participants, but they gave everyone at Pokercode something to cheer for and provided ever-lasting inspiration for the rest of the team to one day reach that stage.
On 17.07, Luka Bojovic made history, becoming the first Pokercode member to reach the final table of the WSOP Main Event. He gave everything at the final table and ended up finishing in fifth place for a whopping $2.4m.
Ever since joining the community, Luka has been at the forefront of everything we’ve done. Not only was he a participant in the Grindhouse 2, but he’s a consistent attendee of all of our coaching sessions and always makes an effort to attend everything we’re associated with, such as Boot Camps and Live Festivals. He’s the perfect example of what you can achieve if you dedicate yourself to improving and turn up every single day to battle for your future. It’s tough to achieve more than he already has in poker, but I'm certain he’ll manage it and you will be hearing a lot more from him in the future.
Pokercode staff member, Nebo Ankucic showcased his PLO skills in our Velden Boot Camp on 27.07 by taking down the €2.2k Event for €42k. After deciding to dedicate a lot of time to studying the game of PLO, Nebo certainly earned this victory and kicked off the Boot Camp in the best way possible. For every community member who attended Velden, they’ll all be aware of Nebo’s personality and character, who’s a joy to be around.
Following on from Nebo’s success in Velden, Mantas joined the winners circle on 27.07 by taking down the €1.1k Mystery Bounty Event for €18k + bounties. The community legend was already making a name for himself on the trip by finishing third in the €5k High Roller for €52.7k, but this time he wanted a trophy for him and the supporting community members who were making a lot of noise on the rail.
The month of August was off to a good start for the community, as Fabian Bartuschk secured another WSOP Circuit Ring in Tallinn. At this point, Fabian is a veteran in the live scene, attending events all over Europe and beyond and it was just a matter of time before he collected another title along the way. He took down the €1.1k Mystery Bounty event for €22.5k + bounties and the ring to add to his trophy collection.
The live poker success continued for the Pokercode Community and this time it was at the APPT in South Korea. Jeremy Chan, one of our longest serving members, took his online success and transferred it to the live felt as he finished 2nd in the Super High Roller for $160k. This was Jeremy’s biggest ever score, but I'm sure that’ll be broken in the near future as he attends more live events around the world.
We promised he would feature again, so here he is. Just one week ago, Samu added another one million dollar score to his CV with a 2nd place finish in the $10k GGMillions Main Event for $1.072m. He battled it out against some of the biggest names in the high-stakes scene and showed why he’s currently one of the best players around.
There’s no ceiling for Samu as he continues to collect score after score and with the GG WSOP Series just beginning and the WCOOP Series about to start, expect to hear more of his name.
The best thing about everyone mentioned in this post, is that they’re all Pokercode members and started from the same place as everyone else. They’ve got to this point with hard work, dedication and the willingness to put themselves out there. There’s no reason why you can’t follow in their footsteps.
